Firestormers, Inc. started in 2002 as a private contractor in the professional private wildland firefighting service. Our headquarters is in Chehalis, Washington. We operate our engines out of Ontario, OR. under the Region 6 multi-agency agreement administered by the United States Forest Service.
The private wildland fire service is an efficient way for government agencies to supplement their wildland firefighting forces. Agencies such as the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Oregon Department of Forestry and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources maintain firefighting personnel and increase those personnel during the fire seasons. It is difficult, and too expensive, to have adequate resources available for the busiest parts of, or exceptionally busy, fire seasons. This is when the private wildland fire service is called into action. Private resources are only paid when they respond to an incident thus saving the cost of maintaining resources that may not be needed all year.
Firestormers, Inc. currently operates two Type 4 engines and can respond anywhere in the United States. In past years we have operated in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and California. We do varied work on the wildfires including initial attack, structural protection, mop-up and supplying water for extended hose lays. We have also been assigned to provide medical services on various incidents.
Firestormers, Inc. provides fire jobs to quality men and women who enjoy working outdoors and being a part of the wildland firefighting system. Our employees are a vital part of our success. They and the staff of Firestormers, Inc. all share the vision of distinctive quality and unparalleled customer service. With that as a common goal we are headed for even greater success in the future.
